Manchester City Player Arrested for Mobile Phone Theft
In September, Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes was arrested in Madrid on charges of mobile phone theft. This was reported by Marca, citing El Mundo.
The incident occurred on September 8 at the "La Riviera" nightclub in the Spanish capital. According to the investigation, the 26-year-old Portuguese footballer snatched a mobile phone from an individual who was photographing him in the restroom.
Following his arrest, Nunes was taken to a police station, where he provided testimony regarding the theft allegations. After a few hours, he was released with charges pending a court hearing.
Matheus Nunes joined Manchester City from Wolverhampton in 2023 for a transfer fee of €62 million. Just the day before the incident, he played the full 90 minutes in a Champions League match against Slovan, which City won 4-0. He has now made 35 appearances for the club.
