AC Milan under Massimiliano Allegri are progressing confidently through the league, fighting for the title and not dropping points in fixtures where they cannot afford to slip up. Lecce, by contrast, are close to the relegation zone and look one of the weakest sides of the season.
AC Milan
AC Milan are in excellent form: just one defeat at the start of the season against Cremonese (0:1), followed by a 19-match unbeaten run in Serie A. Massimiliano Allegri has found the right balance between attack and defence. After 20 rounds, the hosts have scored 33 goals (the second-best record after Inter Milan) and conceded only 16 (only AS Roma are better, with 12). In the last round they beat Como 1907 3:1, a side from the top six of the league. However, they had less possession (32%) and were behind 1.28-1.87 in xG, but converted three of their four shots on target.
Lecce
Lecce, on the other hand, are stuck in 17th place. Eusebio Di Francesco’s side have gone five league matches without a win, picking up only one point, and away from home they offer very little: five defeats and six goals scored in nine matches. The visitors’ defence regularly collapses under pressure — 28 goals conceded in 20 rounds — and in attack they lack pace and ideas in the opposition half. They have also lost both matches against AC Milan this season without scoring (0:2 and 0:3).
AC Milan vs Lecce Prediction
AC Milan are stronger in every department — pace, organisation, finishing and mental resilience. In their current form, Lecce can only realistically hope to limit the margin of defeat.
