Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP Paris match.
Aleksandar Kovacevic enters the main draw in Paris as a lucky loser and will look to finally overcome Miomir Kecmanovic, who has already beaten him twice this season.
Aleksandar Kovacevic
Kovacevic’s season has been a mix of highs and lows, but he has held his own against players outside the top 50, posting a 28-22 record. His qualifying run in Paris was demanding: he edged out world No. 151 Kyrian Jacquet (3:6, 7:5, 7:6) before narrowly losing to Damir Dzumhur (7:6, 3:6, 6:7). Thanks to a lucky-loser spot, he remains in the draw and will be eager to make the most of this chance. The American fights for every point and has taken at least one set in eight of his last ten matches. His game suits indoor conditions, where his aggressive return and compact baseline play are more effective.
Miomir Kecmanovic
Kecmanovic has struggled for consistency throughout the season, particularly at Masters 1000 events, where he failed to advance beyond the opening round in two of eight appearances. His recent form is troubling, with four defeats in his last five matches — including one to Stan Wawrinka, currently ranked 158th. Indoors, his career record is below par, with 30 wins and 34 losses, suggesting discomfort on faster surfaces.
Aleksandar Kovacevic vs Miomir Kecmanovic Prediction
Although Kecmanovic leads their head-to-head this year, both of those wins came on outdoor hard courts. Kovacevic is more at ease indoors and should be able to keep this close.
