Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the 2026 World Cup qualifying match.
We expect a disciplined away performance in the World Cup qualifiers as Albania aim to consolidate a play-off place with a result against Andorra. They cannot overtake England for first place, but a win would be the penultimate step towards the play-offs.
Andorra
Andorra have their usual role as outsiders and sit bottom of Group K. They have at least collected a point, notably against Latvia (2:2). Can they be heavily beaten? Across seven matches, their goal difference is -12. Only two opponents have managed comfortable wins so far — Albania and Serbia, both 3:0 at home. In the Pyrenees, the hosts have played two home matches and lost both narrowly by 0:1, with England among their opponents.
Albania
Albania took a major step towards the play-offs in Belgrade in October, defeating Serbia 1:0. The under 2.5 goals bet has landed in four of their qualifying matches, and overall in five of six. It is therefore unsurprising that the visitors have scored only three goals more than Andorra (six to three).
Andorra vs Albania Prediction
The hosts tend to keep scorelines respectable at home, while Albania prioritise control and defensive stability. Given the visitors’ strong results combined with frequent under 2.5 goals outcomes, we back them to win in a low-scoring match, with Andorra unlikely to create much.
