Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Bundesliga match.
After a heavy 0:3 defeat against Bayern Munich, Bayer 04 Leverkusen restored confidence with a 1:0 away win over Benfica, but will the midweek Champions League fixture affect the upcoming match against Heidenheim?
Bayer 04 Leverkusen
Bayer Leverkusen have not played in Leverkusen since 26 October, having already completed three away fixtures. The last match at the BayArena ended in a 2:0 win for the hosts over Freiburg. The final score was set before the visitors were reduced to ten men in the 74th minute. In five home Bundesliga matches, the squad have lost only once, and that was on the opening weekend under Erik ten Hag (1:2 against Hoffenheim).
Heidenheim
Heidenheim are fluctuating between 17th and 18th and cannot get out of the relegation zone. They need at least a short unbeaten run, which has not happened since the start of the season. There is a slight improvement: defeats have started to alternate with points, of which there are five so far.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen vs Heidenheim Prediction
All of Heidenheim’s points have come at home, while away they have four defeats from four with a -6 goal difference. In this situation, it is reasonable to back a handicap on Bayer Leverkusen, especially as it was similar last season (5:2).
