Since the start of 2026, Bayern Munich have continued to impress not only in attack but also with very well-organised defence. In four January matches, the squad have conceded only three goals, and on Wednesday against Union Saint-Gilloise in the UEFA Champions League (2:0) they allowed just 0.88 xGA and one shot on target, playing the whole second half without the sent-off defender Min-jae Kim. At home, the hosts have conceded only seven goals in nine Bundesliga matches; only Borussia Dortmund have a better record with six.
Augsburg
Since the start of winter, Augsburg have managed only one win in six matches, and that victory came in early December at home against an inconsistent Bayer 04 Leverkusen (2:0). Since then, they have played three matches without scoring, and after the 2:2 draw with Freiburg their gap to the relegation zone has remained at four points. Away from home, the side have scored only eight goals, the third-worst record in the league, level with St. Pauli.
Bayern Munich vs Augsburg Prediction
The August win mentioned above was Bayern Munich's seventh derby victory in a row. Augsburg are desperate to take at least some points in Munich, so they are likely to focus on defending, and the hosts' back line should have a relatively quiet evening.
