This is the key match of the round. Borussia Dortmund and Stuttgart occupy third and fourth place and are fully engaged in the race for places in the Champions League. Defeat threatens not only the loss of one position but potentially several at once.
Borussia Dortmund
This is especially true for Borussia Dortmund, who could be overtaken by three rivals at once. Besides Stuttgart, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Hoffenheim are also in the mix. A few rounds ago, the team did not have such a headache, but only two wins in their last five matches in the Bundesliga have complicated the situation significantly. However, we should note that their defence remains solid, with only seven goals conceded. Only Bayern Munich have done better, with six. Incidentally, a month ago Bayern Munich beat them (2:1).
Stuttgart
Stuttgart's record for goals conceded is worse, as is the case for most teams: they have let in 12. In the last round they produced an entertaining match together with Augsburg (3:2). Before that, almost nothing worked away to RB Leipzig (1:3). In all five of the visitors' away matches, the over bet has landed.
Borussia Dortmund vs Stuttgart Prediction
It looks as though that trend will continue. Last season Borussia Dortmund and Stuttgart also produced matches that went over the total goals: 5:1 and 2:1, both times in favour of Stuttgart. This time, however, the visitors will not come away with a win. So far the hosts have allowed opponents to take only a single point from a draw in one of their five matches.
