The Boston Celtics have recently become a serious problem for the league’s top teams. They have already spoiled the mood for the Detroit Pistons and the Cleveland Cavaliers and clearly do not intend to stop. It definitely will not be easy for the New York Knicks, especially in a TD Garden packed with fans.
Boston Celtics
Many wondered whether Jaylen Brown could handle the responsibilities of being the team’s leader. Time has shown that this role suits him well. Over his last five games he is averaging 30.8 points and has also recorded a triple-double against the Cleveland Cavaliers (117:115). It is also worth remembering that the Celtics still rank second in the league in points conceded (110.9), behind only the Oklahoma City Thunder.
New York Knicks
Some time ago the New York Knicks lost two crucial players for Mike Brown’s system, OG Anunoby and Landry Shamet. They were averaging 24.9 points between them, so their absence was bound to affect the results. In four games the visitors have failed to reach their average of 120.4 points scored three times (113, 116 and 118), even though they faced crisis-hit opponents in the Milwaukee Bucks, the Brooklyn Nets, and the Toronto Raptors, whose defence raises serious questions.
