Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
Brighton have lost two games in a row and will have only a two-day rest before facing Leeds United. Under such circumstances, it’s hard to see them as a reliable favourite.
Brighton
Brighton are indeed viewed as favourites, but recent results tell a different story. The team suffered a painful league defeat to Manchester United (2:4) after trailing 0:3, and then fell to Arsenal (0:2) in the League Cup round of 16. Even though Brighton used a rotated squad, they actually created more than Arsenal — 18 shots to 16, three big chances to two, and more on-target attempts (six to five) — but poor finishing let them down.
Leeds United
Leeds United, meanwhile, have enjoyed a full week of rest since last Friday’s match, where they dominated West Ham United. The 2:1 scoreline doesn’t reflect their control, as West Ham United’s goal came late. Leeds United struck twice in the opening 15 minutes and allowed the opposition to respond only in the final phase.
Brighton vs Leeds United Prediction
Considering Brighton’s fatigue, inefficiency in front of goal, and Leeds United’s freshness, the visitors have every chance to take something from this match.
