Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
The Boston Celtics are still trying to find their rhythm and have yet to move into a positive win-loss record. They now have an excellent opportunity, with an away game against the outsider the Brooklyn Nets, and a win would help the visitors strengthen their position in the play-in tournament zone.
Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets won their last game convincingly against the Washington Wizards (129:106), ending a four-game losing streak. The standout in that meeting was, of course, Michael Porter Jr., who recorded 34 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. It is also worth noting that their offence has started to look much more interesting since Egor Demin was moved into the starting point guard role: in three of the last five games he has delivered at least five assists and is averaging 9.4 points.
Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics badly lack consistency, and their last game was a clear example of this. They led the LA Clippers by 24 points in the third quarter but in the end only scraped a 121:118 win. Their defence fell apart in the final quarter, and attempts to repair it with the young Jordan Walsh and Josh Minott did not succeed.
Brooklyn Nets vs Boston Celtics Prediction
We do not expect the Boston Celtics to win by a large margin. As recent games have shown, even when they build a lead during the game, they often allow it to disappear in the closing minutes. The Brooklyn Nets are on a good run right now and can cause them problems, especially through the Egor Demin–Michael Porter Jr. partnership.
