Both clubs lost in the previous round, but while that defeat only dropped Crystal Palace into mid-table, Burnley remain down in 19th place.
Burnley
Burnley are stuck in the relegation zone after a run of four defeats, although they are only one point from safety. Returning to Turf Moor should increase their chances of taking points: in six home matches they have lost only three and conceded just six goals. The problem is their lack of productivity in attack. Burnley have scored only five goals and are creating even less (3.86 xG).
Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace create even more away from home (9.92 xG), although they have only scored eight times. Even so, that is enough for them to sit fourth in the away standings, with three wins and a draw from six matches and only four goals conceded. Crystal Palace were particularly unhappy with their most recent league match: creating the better chances (1.83-1.19 in xG), they still lost at home to Manchester United because of two goals from free-kicks.
Burnley vs Crystal Palace Prediction
Burnley have scored only one home goal from set pieces, which is unlikely to be enough to win. They are clearly weaker than the current Manchester United, so we are confident that Crystal Palace will take their chances and win. Alternatively, we recommend betting on the under 2.5 goals because both sides have poor scoring records at home and away.
