There is a chance that by the start of next season Burnley and Millwall will have swapped places between the top two divisions in England. The hosts are unlikely to get out of the Premier League relegation zone, whereas the visitors have spent the whole campaign in the top six of the EFL Championship and now have a realistic chance of promotion to the Premier League.
Burnley
Despite an emotional 2:2 draw at Turf Moor against Manchester United, the point gained only helped Burnley slightly. They are eight points behind Nottingham Forest in 17th place; only Wolverhampton Wanderers, who earned their first win of the season in round 20, are below them. At home the side have scored 10 goals in 11 Premier League matches, the joint-worst record in the division along with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace.
Millwall
The Christmas break helped Millwall reset. Since 26 December they have collected eight points from a possible 12 (two wins and two draws), which has lifted them into fifth place in the EFL Championship. Interestingly, the London side have the weakest attack among the top 15 sides in the league, with only 29 goals scored in 26 rounds. In their last five away matches the visitors have managed only one win.
Burnley vs Millwall Prediction
Since August 2022 Burnley and Millwall have played four head-to-head matches, and three of them have finished under 2.5 goals. We are confident that this FA Cup tie will also be low-scoring.
