Adam Williams presents his prediction for the 2m3½f Chepstow 11th April Grand National Raceday Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase (GBB Race) (5yo+) horse racing event.
Willmount remains lightly raced. He has had two outings this season, falling on his first start before finishing third in a Limited Handicap Chase here at Chepstow last time. He may not look the most eye-catching on paper, but he cannot be ruled out.
Gamesters Guy won a three mile Chasing Excellence Novices’ Chase at Doncaster, beating just one rival, the favourite Moon Rocket. He then finished last of five on his most recent start. The drop back in trip could suit him better.
Juby Ball faces a question mark over the distance. His only attempt at 2m3½f ended in a fall, although he was travelling well at the time. His other runs have been over two miles. Last time he went close to winning here at Chepstow, eventually finishing second.
The Four Sixes has collected two chase victories this season, both in very small fields. On the first occasion he had one opponent, and on the second just two. Between those wins he finished sixth in a Handicap Hurdle. In this company, he looks to hold solid claims and is our selection.
