Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NHL match.
The Detroit Red Wings impressed early, when almost no one could stop them in October, and in November it has been the Anaheim Ducks’ turn. However, they also suffered their first defeat of the month.
Detroit Red Wings
At one stage the Detroit Red Wings even topped the standings in the Eastern Conference, but as the regular season progressed the team began making more mistakes. They stayed second in the Atlantic Division for a long time, but on 8 November unexpectedly dropped out of the top three. The reason was two defeats: away to the Vegas Golden Knights (0:1) and at home to the New York Rangers (1:4). Another loss on the ice at Little Caesars Arena to the Chicago Blackhawks (1:5) on 9 November pushed the hosts out of the play-off spots.
Anaheim Ducks
As we noted, the Anaheim Ducks also lost their most recent game, but it was an away defeat to the Colorado Avalanche (1:4). Lukáš Dostál did everything he could to keep the team in it, but in the 48th minute the Avalanche converted a power play to make it 3:1, after which seeing it out became far easier. Still, the goalie deserves credit — he stopped 91.4% of shots.
Detroit Red Wings vs Anaheim Ducks Prediction
There is a clear difference between the Detroit Red Wings and the Anaheim Ducks right now. Before losing to the Colorado Avalanche, the Ducks produced one of the best runs in the league this season — seven straight wins, including three on the road. That sequence also included an away victory over the Detroit Red Wings (5:2). We see no reason to rule out the visitors taking points here.
