Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP Paris match.
Felix Auger-Aliassime, who easily defeated the recent Shanghai Masters champion (Valentin Vacherot), reached the semi-finals of the Rolex Paris Masters, where he will face Alexander Bublik, who has taken out several top opponents during the tournament.
Felix Auger-Aliassime
Felix Auger-Aliassime (World No. 10 ATP) has reached an indoor semi-final for the 15th time in his career, but this season he has lost five of six matches at this stage. However, at the Paris Masters, he has not looked at his best. The Canadian gave up one set in three of his four matches at the tournament, even though he benefited from the draw — all his opponents are ranked outside the top 40.
Alexander Bublik
Alexander Bublik (World No. 16 ATP) has won four titles this season (Halle Open, Swiss Open Gstaad, Generali Open Kitzbühel, Hangzhou Open), and in Paris he defeated Corentin Moutet, Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur, against whom he won 89% of points behind his first serve. All his opponents were in the top 50, and Fritz and de Minaur are in the top 10. Indoors, Bublik has won 8 of 12 matches this season, and at the semi-final stage of tournaments he has always advanced — 100% (four of four).
Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Alexander Bublik Prediction
Felix Auger-Aliassime thrives indoors, but Bublik, at his peak, uses unpredictability to repeat last year's win at the Montpellier Open. The Canadian is persistent, but the Kazakh will have the advantage.
