Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP Vienna match.
Francisco Cerúndolo arrives in Vienna on a high after winning the exhibition event in Hong Kong, while Alexander Bublik continues his push toward the world’s top 10 following a confident opening win over Alejandro Tabilo on Austrian soil.
Francisco Cerúndolo
World No.21 Cerúndolo has had a stop-start season but seems to have rediscovered his form in October. His dominant run in Hong Kong — where he defeated several top-tier opponents — was followed by an emphatic 6:3, 6:1 victory over Alex Michelsen in the Vienna opener. The Argentine has held his own against elite competition recently, winning 8 of his last 13 matches against players ranked between 10 and 20. He also has fond memories of facing Alexander Bublik, having crushed him in straight sets at this year’s Australian Open (7:6, 6:3, 6:2).
Alexander Bublik
World No.16 Bublik has enjoyed a strong 2025 season, collecting four titles on different surfaces since June. However, the long campaign seems to be catching up with him — in six of his last nine matches against top-30 opposition, he’s dropped at least one set. Indoors, Bublik remains as unpredictable as ever: a mix of dazzling touch and erratic decision-making. His drop shots, underarm serves, and risk-heavy hitting were all on display against Alejandro Tabilo (6:4, 6:4), along with five double faults.
Francisco Cerúndolo vs Alexander Bublik Prediction
Cerúndolo has already proven he can handle Bublik’s variety and enters this clash in better rhythm. Given his recent form and the confidence from their previous meeting, the Argentine should at least keep this one tight.
