Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
Last weekend Fulham were one of the few clubs to produce an upset, winning away to Tottenham Hotspur. Can they pull off another surprise in their match against Manchester City?
Fulham
Fulham scored two goals against Tottenham Hotspur because the opposition were too lax in defence. First they failed to cut out a pass across the penalty area and helped it on with a deflection, and then Guglielmo Vicario inexplicably rushed towards the touchline. Harry Wilson punished him with a precise strike into the empty net. All this happened in the first six minutes of the match. Tottenham ultimately did not create much (0.86 xGA), but Fulham still conceded once from 0.86 xGA, which reduced Bernd Leno's rating.
Manchester City
Manchester City started that Saturday very well when Phil Foden scored in the first minute, but in the end it was not his first goal that proved decisive; it was the shot he drove into the bottom corner in the 91st minute. Manchester City's defence were slow to react in two situations, which led to the goals. They have been allowing too much to their opponents recently: they have conceded twice in each of the last three matches.
Fulham vs Manchester City Prediction
In that run, things have not always ended well for Manchester City (two defeats), so despite the high odds on Fulham (above 5.0), they still have a chance of success. It is worth backing them at least with a minimal handicap.
