Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP Paris match.
Gabriel Diallo, who recently broke into the top 50, faces Alex De Minaur, fresh from an impressive run to the semi-finals in Vienna.
Gabriel Diallo
Ranked 42nd in the world, the Canadian relies on a strong serve and solid backhand. He has been consistent indoors, taking at least one set in eight of his last nine matches on this surface. In Paris, he defeated Tallon Griekspoor (6:3, 6:4), though his overall form this season has been uneven. Since his title in ’s-Hertogenbosch, Diallo has failed to go beyond the second round in ten of his last twelve tournaments. His only previous meeting with Alex De Minaur came two years ago at the Toronto Masters (4:6, 5:7).
Alex de Minaur
Currently ranked sixth, the Australian has won nine of his eleven indoor matches in 2025, reaching the final in Rotterdam and the semi-final in Vienna. In both events, he was stopped only by the dominant Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. De Minaur begins his Paris campaign here, a tournament where he has reached at least the last sixteen for three consecutive years.
Gabriel Diallo vs Alex de Minaur Prediction
Diallo is a resilient player, but De Minaur is usually composed and clinical in the early stages of major tournaments. Expect a confident performance from the Australian and a clear victory by a margin of at least three games.
