There is only a small gap between Girona and Osasuna in the LaLiga EA Sports standings, but the tight competition forces both mid-table sides to play at their maximum. Girona do not want to slip back into the relegation zone, so we can expect them to adopt a cautious, defence-minded approach.
Girona
Despite an away win over RCD Mallorca (2:1), which allowed Girona to overtake Valencia and move up to 17th place, Míchel Sánchez’s team still cannot feel safe. In their first 18 league matches, they have scored only 17 goals – only four clubs in LaLiga EA Sports have a weaker attack. At home, the side have collected just nine points from nine games (the 17th-best record, level with Rayo Vallecano) and the under 2.5 goals bet has landed in two of their last three matches there.
Osasuna
Osasuna are one of the least high-scoring teams in LaLiga EA Sports. Over 18 rounds, the team have gone over the 2.5 goals line only six times – only Celta de Vigo, Rayo Vallecano and Real Oviedo have fewer such matches, with five each. Away from home, they have taken only two points from a possible 27, but a month ago they looked quite good on their visit to Barcelona (0:2), defending deep for the whole match.
Girona vs Osasuna Prediction
Given the difficult situation of Girona and Osasuna in the standings, we should not expect a bright, high-scoring match. We think the sensible choice here is the under 2.5 goals option that is typical for mid-table LaLiga EA Sports fixtures.
