Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the WTA Finals match.
Iga Świątek received a bagel from Elena Rybakina, and Amanda Anisimova snatched a victory from Madison Keys — now, in the Serena Williams Group, it will be decided who advances to the semi-finals. The Pole and the American have one win each head-to-head this year; now it will be decided who takes the lead in their rivalry.
Iga Świątek
Iga Świątek (No. 2 WTA) won the Korea Open, the Cincinnati Open, and Wimbledon in 2025. However, after a doping scandal, she lost her undefeated status: Aryna Sabalenka, Emma Navarro, and Elena Rybakina handed her a bagel this year. The world No. 2 also lost three of her last eight matches. At the WTA Finals Riyadh, she defeated Madison Keys (6:1, 6:2), but against Rybakina she again received another bagel (6:3, 1:6, 0:6) and converted only 32% of points on her second serve.
Amanda Anisimova
Amanda Anisimova (No. 4 WTA), after being ranked 41st in February, won the Qatar TotalEnergies Open and the China Open, reached two Grand Slam tournaments finals (Wimbledon, US Open), and won 9 of 13 matches against Top-10 opponents. She defeated Iga Świątek at the US Open (6:4, 6:3), avenging the Wimbledon final. However, the American also faltered against Elena Rybakina (3:6, 1:6), but turned the tide against Madison Keys (4:6, 6:3, 6:2), where the American committed 12 double faults.
Iga Świątek vs Amanda Anisimova Prediction
After the setback against Elena Rybakina, Świątek is not in ideal condition, and Anisimova can use aggression to take a set. The world No. 2 is resilient, but Amanda should cover the +4.5 games handicap.
