Dynamic and productive football from Inter Milan makes them a dark horse both in Serie A and in the UEFA Champions League. In this European campaign Inter Milan have yet to concede, but against Kairat Almaty another side of Inter Milan’s game will be evident.
Inter Milan
Across the first three group-stage rounds of the Champions League, Inter Milan have not dropped a point and have scored nine goals — only Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund (both 12) and Paris Saint-Germain (13) have more. In Brussels against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise (4:0), the team decided the match by the start of the second half, scoring three times, and they totalled 4.55 xG over the 90 minutes. In the Serie A, they have 24 goals in 10 rounds — no other team in the league have scored more than 16.
Kairat Almaty
A fortnight ago Kairat Almaty earned their first points in the final round of the UEFA Champions League with a draw against Pafos (0:0). That result can be seen as a positive for the team; however, their opponents, down to ten men from the 4th minute, still produced more in xG (1.26-1.76 in xG). Against Sporting (1:4) and Real Madrid (0:5) Kairat Almaty did not look competitive — in their debut Champions League campaign they simply lack quality.

Inter Milan will be another stern test for Kairat Almaty. The Kazakhstan team recently defended their domestic title and had a week’s rest, but Inter Milan’s powerful attack will expose the underdog’s weaknesses.
