This week Juventus were eliminated from the Coppa Italia at the quarter-final stage for the second time in a row. This is clearly a failure for the side, and they will look to make amends at home in a match against their traditional rivals, Lazio.
Juventus
Can we say that Juventus deserved to lose 0:3 to Atalanta? Definitely not. They outperformed their opponents, 1.82-1.59 in xG and 13-8 in shots, but their finishing let them down.
Two further points are important. First, Kenan Yıldız did not appear on the pitch and was given a deserved rest. Second, Jérémie Boga, signed in January, has fitted into the system very well and is certain to make an impact by adding pace on the left flank.
Lazio
Lazio did not receive the long-awaited reinforcements, so Maurizio Sarri had to resort to risky ideas. Pedro started at centre forward in the 3:2 win over Genoa. Did this bring the expected result? We doubt it, as the side only snatched victory in the 10th minute of added time thanks to a penalty.
Moreover, from open play they created only 0.6 xG, which is a disastrous return given the level of the opponents.
Juventus vs Lazio Prediction
Juventus will produce a better performance to apologise to their fans for the failure in the Coppa Italia. Lazio are in crisis and will not offer serious resistance, so we expect a win by at least a two-goal margin.
