The standout fixture in European football on Monday will be played at Stadio Olimpico between Lazio and Como 1907. Both teams are aiming for spots in European competitions: if they win, Maurizio Sarri's side will cut the gap to the visitors to three points and move above Bologna.
Lazio
Before their 1:0 win over Hellas Verona in the last round, Lazio had gone a full month without a victory in the Serie A (three draws and a defeat). In January the club parted ways with their leaders Taty Castellanos and Mattéo Guendouzi; among the new signings only Petar Ratkov and Taylor can be highlighted. The newcomers still need time to adapt to the pace of the league, and the hosts already have plenty of problems with chance creation – they are fourth from bottom in xG (24.05).
Como 1907
The 1:3 defeat to AC Milan ended Como 1907's four-match unbeaten run, during which they conceded only one goal. After the game Cesc Fàbregas complained about AC Milan's pragmatic style; the upcoming opponents play in the same manner, so they are likely to abandon a high press. Away from home the side have conceded only nine goals – only Lazio, AC Milan and A.S. Roma have a better defensive record (seven each).

Only four of Lazio's 20 matches in the Serie A this season have produced over 2.5 goals. Como 1907 beat them 2:0 in the reverse fixture, keeping a clean sheet, and the game at Stadio Olimpico is also likely to be tight.
