Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
Friday’s Premier League schedule features a clash between two struggling sides. Leeds United are fighting to climb out of the bottom half, while West Ham United’s season has descended into full-blown crisis.
Leeds United
After returning to the top flight, Leeds United initially looked solid, sitting 12th after seven rounds. However, a run of three winless games has dropped them to 16th. The results were particularly frustrating — a 2:2 draw with Bournemouth and narrow 1:2 loss to Tottenham Hotspur could have easily brought more points, while the 0:2 defeat to Burnley away was a genuine setback. Manager Daniel Farke continues to extract the maximum from one of the league’s thinnest squads, but another defeat, especially at home to second-bottom West Ham United, would raise serious questions about his future.
West Ham United
New manager Nuno Espírito Santo has inherited a mess from Graham Potter and is still trying to steady the ship. His early results show the challenge — a heavy 0:2 defeat to Brentford underlined how deep the problems run. West Ham were completely outplayed, producing just 0.35 xG against 2.37 and losing the shot count 7-22. The squad look short on confidence and ideas, while defensive gaps remain a recurring issue.
Leeds United vs West Ham United Prediction
Even with their own struggles, Leeds United look better organised and more cohesive. Elland Road’s atmosphere should give them the edge against a West Ham side in disarray both tactically and mentally.
