Surprisingly, over their last five league matches Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers have collected the same number of points – six.
Manchester City
This situation says more about the weakness of Manchester City. On Tuesday, the hosts travelled beyond the Arctic Circle to face Bodø/Glimt and lost 1:3. Before that Bodø/Glimt had never won in the main phase of the UEFA Champions League. As a result, over their last seven matches in all competitions, the squad have won only twice: 10:1 against Exeter City from the third tier in The FA Cup and 2:0 against Newcastle United in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup.
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Wolverhampton Wanderers are now four league matches without defeat, although before that they had lost 16 of 18. Their only signing so far is the young Pedro Lima from the second team of Porto, but in the Premier League the 18-year-old Brazilian has spent only one minute on the pitch. The visitors have brought back a point from each of their last two away trips, at the stadiums of Manchester United and Everton (both finished 1:1).
Manchester City vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Prediction
Many of Manchester City’s recent results are linked to a long list of injuries in defence. Their first-choice central pairing of Joško Gvardiol and Rúben Dias is unavailable, as is John Stones. On Monday Marc Guéhi arrived from Crystal Palace, but he also needs time to adapt. Wolverhampton Wanderers will have chances here, and we are backing them with a (+2) handicap.
