Nantes are battling to avoid relegation, while Olympique Lyonnais are targeting a place in the UEFA Champions League. The gap in quality and current form is so obvious that the main question is rather what the winning score for the visitors will be.

The season has been disastrous for Nantes: only 14 points and a place in the relegation play-off zone. The side have won only three matches, lost 12 and have a negative goal difference of 19:36. After a sensational 2:0 victory over Olympique de Marseille came a sequence of setbacks: defeats against OGC Nice (1:4), Paris (1:2) and Lorient (1:2). The home statistics are especially worrying: just one win in ten matches at Stade de la Beaujoire. Olympique Lyonnais
Things are completely different for Olympique Lyonnais. Under Paulo Fonseca the team are enjoying their best spell in recent years: 11 wins in a row in all competitions, including five in Ligue 1. In the last round they beat Lille 1:0, scoring after just two shots on target and managing to neutralise the visitors’ attack, which produced 11 shots on goal. Even away from home the side look solid, with only one defeat in their previous six Ligue 1 matches.
Nantes vs Olympique Lyonnais Prediction
Olympique Lyonnais’ superiority is clear: four wins and one draw in their last five matches. In autumn 2025 they thrashed Nantes 3:0, and since then the trend has only intensified: the hosts have regressed, while they have reached a top level. We expect another three points for them.
