Pisa last won before the November international break; since then they have collected only four points from a possible 27. Juan Cuadrado and company dropped to last place after the surge from Fiorentina. The hosts now have the third-worst attack in the Serie A (15 goals scored), and only four teams concede more often than them, with 30 goals against. Away to Udinese (2:2), the side allowed 2.18 xGA; a top-four contender such as Atalanta should create even more dangerous chances against their goal.

Paradoxically, their strong run has coincided with the absence of Ademola Lookman, who remains with the Nigeria national team at the Africa Cup of Nations. Since 26 November, they have recorded nine wins in 11 matches in all competitions, and their last three victories over AS Roma (1:0), Bologna and Torino (both 2:0) have all come with clean sheets.
