PSV Eindhoven, who made plenty of noise in last year’s Champions League, have started this campaign poorly — just two points from their opening two games, and now they face the reigning Serie A champions, Napoli.
PSV Eindhoven
There’s no reason to panic for PSV Eindhoven fans, though. This is still the same fearless, attack-minded side that takes the game to anyone. In 12 matches this season, they’ve failed to score only once — and that was back in August. Even in Europe, they’ve been creating chances at a high level: 2.52 xG against Union Berlin and a deserved 1:1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen.
Napoli
Napoli, meanwhile, are showing worrying signs at the back. Once Serie A’s most defensively disciplined side, they’ve now conceded in seven straight matches — and not just against elite opposition. Torino, Genoa, and even newly promoted Pisa all managed to find the net, with the latter scoring twice.

All signs point to an open, attacking encounter. PSV Eindhoven will look to press high and create chances in front of their home fans, while Napoli’s attacking quality means they’re almost certain to respond. Expect goals at both ends.
