Celta de Vigo have gained momentum and confidently broken into the top six in the LaLiga standings, a contrast to Real Madrid, who risk missing out on the title in their battle with Barcelona.
Celta de Vigo
After a four‑match winless run, Celta de Vigo have recorded back‑to-back victories. They have shown character, scoring twice in the second half against RCD Mallorca (2:0) and Girona (2:1), which brought them six points. Although among the top six in LaLiga they have scored the fewest goals (38), they have found the net in seven of their last eight matches. Their defence is solid: 28 goals conceded in 26 rounds and three clean sheets in their last five home games.
Real Madrid
Real Madrid, by contrast, look unconvincing. They have suffered two consecutive LaLiga defeats — something that has not happened to the club since 2019. They first lost to Osasuna (1:2), who snatched victory in the 90th minute, and were beaten by Getafe (0:1) despite having 78% possession. The absence of Kylian Mbappé is telling: he has scored 23 of Real Madrid’s 54 league goals. Gonzalo García Torres is not taking his chances, and Vinícius Júnior threatens opponents more with his dribbling than with clear goal threat.
Celta de Vigo vs Real Madrid Prediction
In the first half of the season the teams met at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, where Celta de Vigo claimed a comfortable 2:0 win. It was Real Madrid’s first defeat at their home ground. Now Celta de Vigo are at home and, in front of their own fans, will try at least to avoid defeat.
