Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
In their previous game, the Atlanta Hawks' five-game winning streak came to an end. They will certainly want to get back to winning ways as quickly as possible, but they now face a very difficult trip to Texas to play the San Antonio Spurs, who have won 78% of their home games this season.
San Antonio Spurs
In their last two games, the Spurs have had to cope without the injured Victor Wembanyama, but that did not stop them from picking up two wins. His replacement Luke Kornet has performed very well and even recorded a double-double (13 points and 11 rebounds). In addition, De'Aaron Fox has had more freedom, which has naturally boosted his scoring: he is averaging 27 points.
Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks are coming into this game in far from ideal shape. Three of their key players are currently on the injury list: Trae Young, Kristaps Porziņģis and Zaccharie Risacher. They are the leaders of the team's offence and combine for 48 points and 13 assists. Considering that this season they have lacked consistency in offence even when at full strength (117.2 points, 18th place), these absences are catastrophic for the side.
San Antonio Spurs vs Atlanta Hawks Prediction
The San Antonio Spurs are regarded as favourites, and that is no surprise. They are indeed without Victor Wembanyama, but the Atlanta Hawks have lost several key players at once, so in the near future they are unlikely to be able to put up much of a fight against their opponents.
