In Texas the San Antonio Spurs and the Golden State Warriors are continuing their rivalry. A couple of days ago they played the first game of the season series and, surprisingly, the visitors won (125:120).

When speaking about the Spurs we should note one of their unsung heroes. The second season in the NBA was a breakthrough for Stephon Castle. On average the guard scores 18.7 points and eight assists, which complements Victor Wembanyama well. Moreover, in the game against the Golden State Warriors he recorded a triple-double of 23 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

What was the reason for the Warriors’ success in the last game? Clearly the standout performance of Stephen Curry. The star point guard scored an incredible 46 points in 33 minutes on the court. However, we should remember that he is already 37 and can no longer produce such figures consistently. In addition, the San Antonio Spurs have the fourth-best defence in the NBA, so they are likely to limit Curry.

We believe that the Warriors’ victory was a fluke. It is unlikely that Stephen Curry alone will secure another win against such a top opponent. The hosts will win the rematch.
