Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification match.
The situation after two matchdays played in Group C is very intriguing. Three sides remain candidates to qualify for the World Cup, with both Scotland and Greece being amongst them. There’s only one point between these teams, and the head-to-head game should be very exciting.
Scotland
Scotland started the campaign perfectly well. They managed to end the match versus Denmark in a goalless draw and confidently beat Belarus (2:0). Since the games played in September, John McGinn have increased his level drastically. The key midfielder have scored 3 goals and made 1 assist in his 7 games played for Aston Villa. The attacking line of the Scottish side will be very strong.
Greece
Their match versus Denmark was a failure (0:3). That game revealed that the Greek side is not capable to play well against a top team. Greece tried to play defensively but committed a lot of mistakes, which led to 1.94 xGA. And no good counter-attacks were provided, with 0.17 xG.
Scotland vs Greece Prediciton
Scotland should obviously lead their home game. This is about to be another failure for Greece. The away side won’t be able to stand against the Scottish offensive actions and they won’t be able to perform well in their own attacking line.
