Serbia host a young USA side who, despite limited international experience, are capable of springing a surprise against an inconsistent European team.
Serbia U21
Serbia have battled inconsistency all year. Their only wins came against the Czech Republic, Romania and Bosnia, while they suffered defeats to France at 0:3, Greece at 2:3, Bulgaria at 1:2 and Georgia at 1:3. The team show character, but their finishing repeatedly lets them down with just nine goals across six matches. At the same time Serbia conceded 12, including three against France, Greece and Georgia.
USA U21
The USA squad have very little experience at this level. Their only notable outing so far was a 1:1 draw with Denmark a few days ago, with Jackson Hopkins levelling the score in the second half. The team are preparing for the 2028 Olympics and are currently on a European training camp. They are expected to field a group of MLS prospects who should be able to create enough to find at least one goal.
Serbia U21 vs USA U21 Prediction
Serbia will attempt to impose themselves at home, but their fragile back line is unlikely to hold without errors. The USA’s young MLS talents should offer enough threat to stay competitive and at the very least get on the scoresheet.
