Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Europa League match.
It seems Stuttgart and Feyenoord have ended up lower in the aggregate standings of the overall stage of the UEFA Europa League than expected — after three rounds, both are even outside the play-off zone.
Stuttgart
Stuttgart are 29th, having won only the opening match against Celta Vigo (2:1), followed by defeats to Basel 1893 (0:2) and Fenerbahçe (0:1). A partial explanation is that those games were away. The German side are currently focused on the Bundesliga, where they are fourth and have won all four home league matches.
Feyenoord
Feyenoord are 25th, also with just one win — in the third round against Panathinaikos (3:1). In the Eredivisie, they lead, ahead of PSV Eindhoven only on goal difference, and show consistency both at home and away. However, in the UEFA Europa League they lost at home to Aston Villa and away to Braga, and this year in European away matches they have four defeats and one draw.
Stuttgart vs Feyenoord Prediction
Stuttgart have a significant advantage in league quality and an impeccable home record. The visitors have been weak away in European competition. We expect the hosts to use their advantages and win.
