Elimination from the Coppa Italia by Torino (2:3) at the Stadio Olimpico was a double setback for AS Roma. Now, without home support, the visitors will do everything they can to improve their situation in the league; a narrow win in Turin would be enough for them.
Torino
Since the end of October, Torino have managed only three wins in 12 Serie A matches, and at the moment the hosts are equally distant from both the top six and the relegation zone. Last weekend Marco Baroni's side showed very little away to Atalanta BC (0:2), producing only 0.82 xG from three shots on target. Incidentally, in terms of expected goals, they have underperformed by more than seven goals in this campaign (21 actually scored from 28.21 xG).
AS Roma
Because of a narrow defeat at the start of January to the same Atalanta BC (0:1), AS Roma surrendered fourth place in Serie A to Juventus. They have the weakest attack among the top seven (24 goals), and within the top ten only Udinese Calcio (22) and Lazio (21) have scored fewer. However, Gian Piero Gasperini's pragmatic style has significantly strengthened the defence: the Romans have conceded fewer goals than any other side in the league (12), and over 20 rounds the under 2.5 goals bet has landed in their matches 15 times (the second-lowest scoring record).
Torino vs AS Roma Prediction
Back in September, Torino inflicted AS Roma's first defeat in head-to-head meetings this season (1:0). The recent cup tie broke a sequence of three successful under 2.5 goals selections in this fixture; we expect it to come in again on Sunday.
