Werder Bremen’s slide in the standings has been the main surprise in the mid-table of the Bundesliga in 2026. This situation could be exploited by Bayern Munich, who skip the first knockout round of the UEFA Champions League and can therefore put all their energy into the upcoming round of the German league.

Vincent Kompany’s team produced a high-quality attacking display there: 3.10:0.56 in xG and 7:1 in shots on target.
