Jack Grealish’s Next Club: Odds and Predictions
Is AC Milan a Safe Haven for Fallen Stars?
If Manchester City had a face this season, it would be Jack Grealish’s. The most expensive signing in the club’s history has been remembered more for his hairstyle than his signature dribbling or goals. In the 2024-25 season, he has recorded just seven goal contributions.

Much like his current club, Grealish has been unable to fully realise his potential. His playing time has been severely limited, and he’s been drowning his sorrows in pubs. It’s time for a change of scenery. So, where do the bookmakers think the Englishman will go? We break down the options and highlight the best betting picks.

Surprisingly, Saudi Arabian clubs and MLS are nowhere to be found on the list of contenders. It seems that the 29-year-old midfielder has no plans of cashing in on a farewell tour just yet.
Top 7 Contenders for Jack Grealish
Bookmakers have been remarkably accurate when predicting transfers of top players over the last two years. They hardly make mistakes, especially when forecasting contract extensions with the current club.
With Grealish, however, it's a rare exception: City are not the top favorite. This mirrors what happened with Marcus Rashford. Interestingly, Aston Villa wasn’t the top favorite either. The two main directions for Grealish’s move are Italy and England.
Italy
Several insiders are pointing to Milan as the most likely next club for Grealish. Here's what Italian outlet TVPlayIT has to say:
They even mention a figure of 40 million euros. Over the past three years, City have made several successful transfers to Italy—only Spain has seen more. The most notable is Kyle Walker, who left City for Milan just a few months ago and is reportedly very pleased with his decision.
Walker was one of Grealish's closest friends at City. The heartfelt farewell post on Instagram said:
Another Italian giant in need of a squad refresh are Juventus. At one point, City’s Danilo took the route to Juventus, becoming the captain and a legend in Turin.
However, the only real connection between Grealish and Juventus at the moment is a video from a year ago where he was training on one of Juventus' academy fields. This happened right after Gareth Southgate left him out of the England squad for the Euros.
Moreover, Juventus' financial troubles are no secret. Their trading balance for this season is already in the negative. After purchasing players like Koopmeiners, Douglas Luiz, Thuram, and others for 193 million euros, they’ve only sold players for 106 million.
England
The second favorites according to bookmakers are Grealish’s current club, Manchester City. Indeed, his contract runs until 2027. But we know that City have no qualms about parting ways with top players if they stop being regulars in the starting lineup—even if it means losing money.

With Grealish, City could lose around 70 million. But when has that been a problem for the City? Especially if they can prove their commitment to financial Fair Play in the upcoming court case?
Let’s be honest: even a prime Jack Grealish would have a hard time competing with the newcomers—Doku, Marmoush, and Savinho. Right now, he’s clearly not at his best, and on top of that, injuries are a factor. In 16 Premier League matches, he’s spent a total of just over 600 minutes on the field. He’s struggling to find his form, and Guardiola doesn’t have the luxury of waiting.
Another questionable destination is Newcastle. Sure, we’ve all seen the recent footage of a tipsy Grealish leaving The Dubliner pub in Newcastle with a beer in hand, but that’s hardly enough reason to link him to this team.
Since January 2022, all transfer fees for outfield players at Newcastle have been for those aged 23 or younger, except for Harvey Barnes (who was 25 at the time) when they signed him for £38m in the summer of 2023.
Grealish currently earns £300,000 a week at Man City, a figure Newcastle under Eddie Howe is unlikely to match. And can you imagine Tottenham, also named as potential suitors for the Man City star, shelling out such an amount? Tottenham is known for their wage ceiling of £200,000 a week. Why would they make an exception for a player who's struggling?

Germany
Finally, the talks about a move to one of the German clubs seem nonsensical. These rumors are probably fueled by Kane's successful stint at Bayern, but Kane left Tottenham at the peak of his career. No English player at around 30 years old has successfully rebooted their career in Germany in the last 25 years since Paul Lambert’s time at Borussia Dortmund.

Conclusion
It’s much more likely that Grealish will move to Italy, where aging stars are warmly welcomed. In Milan, we’ve already seen Kyle Walker find his feet, and previously, another Premier League star, Olivier Giroud, made a successful move. If Grealish were a free agent, he could find himself at Inter Milan. As things stand, though, it seems his most likely destination is the red-and-black side of Milan. All that’s left is for Milan to sell Morata, who is currently on loan in Turkey, and free up the necessary funds.
