Kansas City Chiefs vs San Francisco 49ers Predictions & Odds
The game starts on February 11, 2024 at 11:30 PM (GMT). The 58th edition of the Super Bowl will decide who’s going to be the champion of the 2023-24 NFL season.
The game will be hosted by Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. It will be played between Kansas City Chiefs (AFC) and San Francisco 49ers (NFC). In this preview, we will analyse the current form of the teams, the odds for this game and the best tips for betting on the 2024 Super Bowl.
Who will win the 2024 Super Bowl?
Kansas City Chiefs tips
The team will defend the title they gained a year ago after beating Philadelphia Eagles (38:35). The Chiefs have dominated the NFL recently. This is going to be their fourth Super Bowl in the last 5 years. They won the title in 2020 and 2023 and remained a runner-up in 2021.
The Chiefs have had a pretty poor season, improving only in the late part and beating some of the top teams.
They started with 11 wins and 6 defeats in the regular season, their worst record since 2017 when their quarterback Patrick Mahomes was a rookie. Probably, he’s to blame for these results, as after becoming the MVP of the 2023 Super Bowl and having a fantastic season, 2023 was quite a bad year in his career. However, he’s improved in 2024.
The Chiefs’ quarterback was the MVP in the game against the 49ers in 2020, too.
The team has attacked very well, but their strong point lies specifically in defensive actions. They’ve proved to be solid and confident. They conceded only 294 points in the regular season, becoming the second best defense in the NFL, only behind the Baltimore Ravens, who finished as leaders of the same Conference (American) with 2800 points against.
The Chiefs played a decisive game against the Baltimore Ravens to determine the winner of the American Conference. The Chiefs won (17:10), although the Ravens were invincible during the season in both defensive and attacking actions.
San Francisco 49ers tips
The 49ers are back to the Super Bowl after 4 years of absence. The last time they participated in this game was in 2020, when they were defeated exactly by the Kansas City Chiefs (31:20).
They had a good season with 12 wins and 5 defeats. Only 4 of the 11 players who started the 2020 game against the Chiefs are still in the team. The squad has changed a lot. Still, these 4 are the players of a very high level:Deebo Samuel (WR), Kyle Juszczyk (FB), George Kittle (TE), and Jimmy Garoppolo (QB). The latter won’t play on February 11, though. However, he has a good substitution in Sam Darnold.
The 49ers are a team that seems to be very dangerous in the offensive line, compared to 2020, with Christian McCaffree y Elijah Mitchell. They’re solid the defence too, having one of the best defensive wings at the moment: Nick Bosa.
Kansas City Chiefs vs San Francisco 49ers Prediction
Many people would like to make a prediction based on the result of 2020, when KC Chiefs beat their opponents 31:20. But both teams have changed a lot since that moment.
Despite the experience that the Chiefs have in this kind of games, they didn’t manage to get the title in 2021, being beaten by Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31:9.
This game is supposed to be equal. The 49ers are the team that is really capable of beating the solid defence of the Chiefs. The 49ers will keep the game in defensive style. They have players to do it (Juszczyk, McCaffrey, Mitchell).
Both teams have good defensive line. They don’t manage to score a lot. Betting sites offer the average total of 47.5 points. You can bet on Under 47.5 at the odds of 9/10 .The question is whether the defence will be able to stop Patrick Mahomes and company or not. Probably, the will as the defensive line has proved to be solid during the season. If they manage to let the Chiefs make just a couple of Touchdowns tops, the 49ers can win the game.
Basically, it’s hard to argue with the odds offered by the betting sites for the Super Bowl. The San Francisco 49ers are obvious favourites to take their sixth title to become the most successful team of the NFL (along with the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers).
