Players Championship Snooker Odds 2025
The first tournament of the Players Series took place in Hong Kong, and quite unexpectedly, Neil Robertson emerged victorious. Robertson defeated David Gilbert (4-1), Xiao Guodong (5-3), Shaun Murphy (6-5), and then completely dismantled Stuart Bingham (10-0) in the final. The next event, the Players Championship, will be held from 17 to 23 March in Telford, featuring the top 16 players of the season.
Who will win the Players Championship 2025?
Snooker Players Championship odds
Matches will now be played in a different format – best of 11 – which means luck will play an even smaller role. This is now the decisive part of the season, with the World Championship just a month away, so we can expect a very high level of play as every snooker player is fine-tuning their form for the season's biggest tournament.

Snooker Players Championship 2025 Favourites and Quarter Betting
First Quarter
The first quarter features Judd Trump, Lei Peifan, Barry Hawkins, and Shaun Murphy. Lei Peifan is having an excellent season, having reached the final stages of the UK Championship and the Saudi Arabian Masters. In December, he won his first trophy at the Scottish Open, defeating Wu Yize (9-5) in the final. However, he has been handed the toughest possible draw – Judd Trump, who has already won the Shanghai Masters, Saudi Arabian Masters, and UK Championship. Lei’s chances in this match are minimal, and it is difficult to see how he could pull off an upset. The other match in this section is between Shaun Murphy and Barry Hawkins, a repeat of their clash at the World Grand Prix, where Murphy won comfortably (4-1). IWe expect Murphy to prevail again, setting up a quarter-final against Trump. While Trump remains the favourite, we wouldn’t rule out Murphy pulling off a win, given his current form.
Second Quarter
The second quarter features John Higgins, Chris Wakelin, Xiao Guodong, and Wu Yize. Despite Wakelin having a strong season, we do not see him having the weapons to trouble John Higgins. The Scotsman is playing some outstanding snooker – he won the World Open with ease and went through the first three rounds of the Welsh Open without dropping a frame, only losing to Mark Selby in the latter stages. Meanwhile, Xiao Guodong and Wu Yize met earlier this season at the Scottish Open, where Wu won (6-4). Wu has reached two finals and has shown great maturity in his game, while at the World Grand Prix, he beat Pang Junxu (4-0) before falling to Stuart Bingham (4-2). Xiao, on the other hand, won the Wuhan Open but did not impress at the World Grand Prix. He scraped past Jak Jones (4-3) and Lei Peifan (4-3) before losing to Neil Robertson (5-3) in the quarter-finals. We believe Higgins will comfortably come through this quarter, as he continues to perform at an exceptional level despite being nearly 50.
Third Quarter
The third quarter features Neil Robertson, Stuart Bingham, Mark Selby, and Si Jiahui. Interestingly, Robertson and Bingham will meet again just days after their World Grand Prix final. This is a great opportunity for Bingham to take revenge for his crushing 10-0 defeat and erase that painful memory. If Robertson wins again, it could haunt Bingham for the rest of his career. Robertson also won the English Open in September, making this a decent season for him despite not yet reaching his peak level. However, compared to last season’s struggles, this campaign has been an improvement.
We believe Mark Selby will emerge from this quarter. Selby is traditionally someone who peaks for the World Championship and has been gradually building form. He recently played the short-format Championship League as a warm-up event, which paid off when he won the Welsh Open. At the World Grand Prix, he reached the quarter-finals before narrowly losing to Stuart Bingham (5-4). Selby will first face Si Jiahui, who has already broken into the top 16. Si has performed well this season and is in contention for the Tour Championship, meaning he has already achieved his season goal. However, Selby has won all four of their previous meetings, and we expect him to win again before defeating either Robertson or Bingham in the next round.
Fourth Quarter
The fourth quarter is the most unpredictable. Kyren Wilson, Mark Allen, Ding Junhui, and Mark Williams all have a relatively equal chance of reaching the semi-finals. Notably, Ding Junhui, Mark Williams, and Mark Allen all lost in the first round of the World Grand Prix, while Kyren Wilson was eliminated from the second round. With all four players highly motivated to progress in this tournament, the competition in this section will be fierce.
Mark Allen, in particular, needs a deep run, as he currently sits 15th in the season rankings and must reach the final to qualify for the Tour Championship. However, given his recent struggles, that seems unlikely. That said, we have seen before how players can raise their level significantly on a given day when fully motivated.
Rather than backing Wilson, we predict Ding Junhui will progress from this section. Ding recently defeated Williams at the Masters (6-5) and has been in good form despite not playing in many events. One of Ding’s strengths is that he rarely loses to lower-ranked opponents, and his early-season defeats are now behind him. At the World Grand Prix, Ding played better snooker than Xu Si but lost a close match (4-3). We expect him to play even stronger here and advance to the semi-finals.
