The 2024/25 season in Scotland concludes with the Scottish Cup final, traditionally held at Hampden Park. This fixture effectively becomes a near-home match for Celtic.
Aberdeen
Aberdeen had the potential to reach a second cup final this season, but their League Cup campaign ended on a dismal note with a 6:0 defeat in the semi-finals. The second phase of the Premiership was also disappointing for the squad. After slipping from second place to third or fourth, Aberdeen eventually finished the 33rd round in fifth. They made no progress in the championship group, remaining fifth after five matches. The Scottish Cup has been their only bright spot, with Aberdeen needing to get past just one top-flight opponent en route to the final — a struggling Heart of Midlothian side (2:1).
Celtic
Celtic comfortably secured another league title, clinching top spot in the opening round of the Premiership’s final phase among the top six. They maintained their concentration throughout the remainder of the campaign, avoiding defeat in all remaining matches. Though they recorded two draws, one of them came in the Old Firm derby away at Rangers (1:1). Aberdeen, by contrast, suffered a heavy 1:5 defeat at Pittodrie.
Aberdeen vs Celtic Prediction
Celtic have already delivered three convincing victories over Aberdeen this season. One of those came in the third round of the Premiership in Glasgow (5:1). Only in the first and second rounds did Aberdeen avoid a heavy loss, managing a 2:2 draw and a narrow 0:1 defeat. We expect the champions to show no leniency in the final and to comprehensively outclass Aberdeen.
