AJ Auxerre
Auxerre’s only victory came against newly promoted Lorient (1:0). The scale of Lorient’s struggles was underlined by Lille, who beat the newcomers (7:1) at home. In the other matches Auxerre were competitive, but in two of them they had players sent off. For much of last season they were strong at home (six wins, five draws and one defeat), but since spring their home form has dipped (one win, one draw and three defeats).
Toulouse
Toulouse have made a solid start despite two defeats. One of them came against Paris Saint‑Germain, who have been winning consistently, and the other was away to LOSC Lille (1:2), another team playing in European competition. That was away from home, but it does not mean Toulouse cannot win away: on Matchday 1 they beat OGC Nice (1:0).
