Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the UEFA Europe League match
Jagiellonia's prolonged run of poor form benefited Ajax, who confidently secured an away victory (4:1). The Dutch side is unlikely to slow down their attacking play at home, with their home supporters awaiting another high-scoring performance.
Ajax
In Białystok, Ajax conceded in the 5th minute but then Akpom scored a hat-trick within an hour (with another goal from Chuba Akpom). The Amsterdam side's overwhelming advantage in shots (17-6 and 10-1 on target) suggests that they will perform even more impressively on home field. It’s likely that Francesco Farioli will make rotations during the break or early in the second half, which should not affect Ajax’s game quality significantly, especially against a less formidable opponent.
Jagiellonia
Following their setback against the Dutch side, Jagiellonia lost in the national league to Katowice (1:3), marking their fifth consecutive defeat across all competitions. During this span, the team conceded 16 goals while managing to score just 5. It's probable that the Polish side have resigned themselves to heading to the Conference League, and they will just show up in Amsterdam to complete the formality.
Ajax - Jagiellonia Prediction
Bookmakers see Ajax as clear favourites for the second leg, and we fully agree. Jagiellonia will not handle their opponent’s attack.
