Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Saudi Pro League match.
Al-Ahli are showing serious ambition this season, whereas Al-Hilal are traditionally viewed as the leading title contenders. The match in Jeddah will be the headline fixture of the matchweek.
Al-Ahli
Al-Ahli are collecting points and remain among the early pace-setters. The team have won five of their six official fixtures and have kept a clean sheet in both league matchweeks. The home run looks especially imposing, with ten consecutive victories across competitions. The new signing Enzo Millot has already made an immediate impact, scoring a brace in the Champions League.
Al-Hilal
Al-Hilal approach the match after a 2:2 draw with Al-Qadsiah, which marked their first dropped points of the season. Even so, the visitors’ squad remain one of the most expensive and well-balanced in the league. Across their last six matches in all competitions, they have scored 18 goals. However, in the last four head-to-head meetings with Al-Ahli, Al-Hilal have managed only one win and have been beaten twice.
Al-Ahli vs Al-Hilal Prediction
Al-Ahli look capable of avoiding defeat at the very least. The hosts have improved their defensive organisation without neglecting their attack. Al-Hilal pose a threat going forward, but breaking down a well-drilled backline will not be straightforward. We are backing the hosts on the Double Chance.
