Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Saudi Pro League match.
Al Hilal still have a theoretical chance of claiming the title, but after two consecutive setbacks, the gap to the league leaders has widened to seven points. The team must win every remaining fixture to keep their hopes alive. Meanwhile, Al Khaleej are mid-standings but have shown a tendency to avoid heavy defeats, even against stronger opposition.
Al Hilal
Al Hilal are currently struggling for form: the squad have picked up only seven points from their last five matches and have failed to win either of their last two home games. The absence of João Cancelo and Rúben Neves has affected the team’s structure, particularly during transitions. Over their past five matches, Al Hilal have conceded seven goals, giving them the worst defensive record among the top seven sides, with 32 goals against. Since early February, they have managed just three wins from nine matches, only one of which came by a margin of three or more goals.
Al Khaleej
Al Khaleej had a difficult start to the season but have shown notable improvement in the spring, moving into mid-standings. They have suffered just three defeats in their last ten away games, with only one of those being a heavy loss — a 1:5 result against Al Shabab. In the other fixtures, the team have demonstrated resilience, averaging 1.5 goals per match over that period. In attack, Kostas Fortounis has registered five goals and four assists, while Abdullah Al-Salem has found the net ten times in the league. Earlier in the campaign, Al Khaleej defeated Al Hilal (3:2).
Al Hilal vs Al Khaleej Prediction
Al Hilal are clearly not at their peak, and Al Khaleej’s motivation to perform well on the road suggests a competitive game. Having already beaten their opponents earlier in the season, the visitors are expected to stay competitive once again and avoid a heavy loss.
