Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the EuroLeague match.
The Lithuanian side currently top the league standings with only one loss so far. In their last matchup, Žalgiris Kaunas comfortably defeated Maccabi Tel Aviv (78:63). Next up is Crvena Zvezda Belgrade, who are eager to bounce back after their significant defeat to Real Madrid (72:95).
Žalgiris Kaunas
Žalgiris are in excellent form, securing four wins in their last five games. Their success is grounded in their pragmatic style of play. The team rank among the bottom three in terms of scoring in the EuroLeague, averaging 75.2 points per game, while conceding only 70.8.
Crvena Zvezda Belgrade
The Serbian team have struggled with consistency this season. On average, they score 80 points per game, but this figure is quite variable. They can rack up 94 points against Barcelona yet manage only 76 against Fenerbahçe. Nevertheless, Crvena Zvezda doesn’t have a poor defence; Fenerbahçe scored just 57 points at home against them.
Žalgiris Kaunas vs Crvena Zvezda Belgrade Prediction
Bookmakers favour the hosts; however, we won't speculate on the winner. Žalgiris are expected to employ their usual method of slowing the game down, and Crvena Zvezda lack the offensive star power to penetrate their solid defence. Furthermore, Crvena Zvezda could stand firm defensively, posing challenges to the already low-scoring Lithuanian offence.
