In the previous round of the EuroLeague, Žalgiris surprised many by defeating Panathinaikos at home (84:77). Lonnie Walker put on an impressive performance, scoring 24 points. Can Žalgiris extend their winning streak by overcoming Baskonia?
Žalgiris
The match against the Greek side showed that the Lithuanian club is starting to find their rhythm in attack and build team chemistry. Alongside Lonnie Walker, Dovydas Sirvydis and Sylvain Francisco delivered excellent performances, scoring 19 and 12 points, respectively. Moreover, Žalgiris excel defensively, averaging 7.3 steals and about 35 rebounds per game. Opponents have managed to score more than 80 points in only 3 out of 11 encounters.
Baskonia
The Basques couldn't present a challenge to Olympiakos in their last outing (69:92). Currently, they have one of the least productive offences in the tournament, averaging less than 76 points per game. Unlike Žalgiris, the visitors cannot boast of having a solid defence. In four of their last five games, opponents have scored 83 or more points.
Žalgiris vs Baskonia Prediction
Baskonia are clear underdogs in the tournament, and we don't believe they will be able to put up significant resistance against Žalgiris, especially away from home. We anticipate an easy victory for the hosts.
