Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the WTA Wimbledon match.
The Wimbledon final marks a career milestone for Amanda Anisimova, as she reaches her first Grand Slam final. In contrast, Iga Świątek arrives in London already a five-time major champion and is now aiming to complete a rare sweep of Grand Slam titles across all surfaces.
Amanda Anisimova
Amanda Anisimova has enjoyed a standout season, highlighted by a title win in Doha and an impressive grass-court run, winning 12 of her last 14 matches. Her surge has propelled her into the world’s top 10. In London, she’s played aggressively, winning 70% of points on her first serve and eliminating four top-50 opponents en route to the final. However, that aggressive approach has come at a cost — Anisimova has recorded 183 unforced errors during the tournament and is averaging six double faults per match. She has also lost two of the three finals she has contested this season.
Iga Świątek
Iga Świątek is appearing in her first Wimbledon final in 2025, becoming the only active player to have reached finals on all surfaces. She has won 10 of her last 12 finals, including eight in straight sets. Her game is built around constructing points with precision, drawing errors from opponents and limiting their chances to dictate play. Świątek has handled aggressive players such as Clara Tauson, Danielle Collins, Liudmila Samsonova, and Belinda Bencic without dropping a set.
Amanda Anisimova vs Iga Świątek Prediction
While Amanda Anisimova has largely faced attacking players during the tournament, Iga Świątek brings a more complete, all-court game that is particularly effective against that style. Świątek has dropped only one set throughout the event and, in matches against three top-35 opponents, has conceded an average of just seven games. She is widely expected to deliver a commanding performance and secure another Grand Slam title.
