A review of Sevastova’s record this season indicates she has not competed on the WTA Tour. That is unsurprising, considering she turned 35 on 13 April and gave birth to a daughter in 2022. Since then, she has played no more than eight matches in any calendar year. While she has largely stepped away from top-level tennis, she has not officially retired. Sevastova currently holds no WTA ranking, and her only two matches this year came last week at an ITF tournament in Koper, Slovenia.
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, just one year younger, remains far more active. She has played ten matches this season, with five wins—four of which came at the Australian Open, where she reached the quarter-finals. Throughout the 2024 season, she has contested 46 matches and secured 27 victories. Her clay-court campaign includes five tournaments so far, recording only three wins on the surface.
