Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Europa League match.
Fenerbahçe have one foot in the Europa League Round of 16 after a dominant victory in the first leg. The Turkish side only need to avoid a three-goal defeat to confirm progression, while Anderlecht will need a miracle comeback.
Anderlecht
The Belgian side missed out on direct qualification for the last 16, despite scoring 14 goals in eight group-stage matches. However, their attack failed to deliver in Istanbul, where they only managed two shots on target from 15 attempts. The return of Kasper Dolberg was meant to boost their chances, but he was ineffective in his 27-minute cameo.
Fenerbahçe
The Turkish side capitalised on their chances in the first leg, converting three of six shots on target, with Dusan Tadić, Edin Džeko, and Youssef En-Nesyri all finding the net. Fenerbahçe are riding a five-match winning streak and have not conceded three goals in a match since 7 November (1:3 loss to AZ Alkmaar).
Anderlecht vs Fenerbahçe Prediction
Anderlecht may push forward, but breaking down a well-organised Fenerbahçe defence won’t be easy. The visitors have the experience and quality to control the game and avoid a defeat, making a neutral handicap a solid choice.
