Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Belgian Pro League match.
Anderlecht
Anderlecht remained unbeaten across five pre-season fixtures, securing three wins and two draws, and edged past BK Häcken (1:0) in European competition. Over that stretch, the team conceded in only two matches while scoring 12 times. Their squad has been strengthened by the addition of Mihajlo Cvetkovic from FK Čukarički, who found the net nine times last season, and Ilay Camara, a key midfielder from Standard Liège. Kasper Dolberg, who scored 18 goals last term, continues to be a focal point in attack.
Westerlo
Westerlo endured an inconsistent pre-season, recording four wins and four defeats in friendlies. In each of those matches, the team conceded at least once. The club lost 22-year-old defender Jordan Bos to Feyenoord during the transfer window and has yet to sign a replacement. Westerlo have struggled in recent meetings with Anderlecht, claiming just one win in their last five encounters — including a heavy 1:4 defeat in the Belgian Cup last year.
Anderlecht vs Westerlo Prediction
Anderlecht are expected to collect all three points. The visitors have lost two of their last three visits to Brussels and are unlikely to contain the hosts’ attacking rhythm.
